1. INTRODUCTION
CopiT (“we,” “us,” “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Platform (application and website).
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information you provide directly:
· Account information (name, email, phone, address, profile photo).
· Payment information (handled by Stripe; we don’t store credit card details).
· Driver information (for drivers: license number, insurance info, bank account, vehicle info).
· Listing information (seller item descriptions, photos, prices).
· Communication (messages between buyers/sellers, support tickets).
We collect information automatically:
· Device information (device type, OS, app version).
· Usage data (features used, pages viewed, time in app).
· Location data (GPS coordinates for driver routes and delivery tracking, only active during deliveries).
· Cookies and similar technology (to remember login, preferences, analytics).
· IP address and analytics (to improve the Platform).
Third-party information: We receive data from Checkr (driver background checks), Jumio (ID verification), Stripe (payment processing), and Google Maps (location services).
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:
· Provide and improve the Platform.
· Process transactions and payments.
· Verify identities and conduct background checks (drivers).
· Send transactional emails (order confirmations, payment receipts).
· Send promotional emails (only if you opt in).
· Enforce our Terms and prevent fraud.
· Comply with legal obligations.
· Analyze user behavior and improve features.
· Customize your experience.
· Contact you with support or account changes.
· Conduct research and analytics (anonymized).
· For drivers: enable GPS tracking, real-time delivery updates, and earnings calculations.
4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do NOT sell your personal data. We share information as follows:
· Between users: Seller addresses are shared with buyers arranging pickup (if local). Buyer addresses are shared with drivers for deliveries. Messages between users are visible to relevant parties only.
· Public: User profiles and listings are publicly visible (unless private). Ratings and reviews are public.
· With service providers: Stripe (payments), Checkr (background checks), Jumio (ID verification), Google Maps (location), Firebase (notifications), Supabase (hosting).
· With legal authorities: If required by law, court order, or to prevent harm.
· For business transfers: If CopiT is sold or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner (you’ll be notified).
· With your consent: If you explicitly consent to share data with third parties.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information as follows:
· Account data: Retained while your account is active and for 1 year after deactivation.
· Transaction data: Retained for 7 years (required for tax/legal compliance).
· Driver data: Background checks and verification retained for 3 years.
· Deleted data: You may request data deletion (we’ll delete within 30 days, except where required to keep data for legal compliance).
· Payment data: Stripe retains per their policies (typically 6+ years for tax).
· Location data: Real-time delivery GPS data is deleted 24 hours after delivery.
6. SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security measures:
· Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
· Encryption of sensitive data at rest.
· Secure password storage (hashed, salted).
· Two-factor authentication available.
· Regular security audits.
However, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials.
7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
· Access your personal data (request a copy of your data).
· Correct inaccurate data.
· Delete your data (right to be forgotten).
· Opt out of marketing emails.
· Data portability (receive your data in a portable format).

CopiT may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. Review their privacy policies before sharing information.
10. INTERNATIONAL DATA
If you use CopiT from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using CopiT, you consent to this transfer.
11. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)
If you’re a California resident:

· You have the right to delete personal data (with exceptions).
· You have the right to opt out of “sales” of personal data (we don’t sell, but you can opt out of analytics sharing).
